Wanda Rimestad, Founder and President

Wanda Rimestad and her husband Marty live in Amery, Wisconsin. They have five adult children and two grandchildren. Wanda is a retired high school French teacher, having taught most of her 36 years in Amery where they raised their children. A passionate teacher of the French language and culture, Wanda initiated numerous host family opportunities in Amery and led fifteen student groups to France. Wanda has been an avid bicyclist throughout her life, bicycling the hills of Buffalo County, Wisconsin as a child to currently using the Stower Seven Lakes State Trail almost daily. Since learning about the Cycling without Age program and attending a training workshop, Wanda has become passionate and focused on bringing trishaws to Amery. The goal of Cycling Without Age in Amery is to improve the lives of older and less mobile people in the Amery area community, to bring them the joy and healthy benefits of getting outdoors for a bike ride and feeling the wind in their hair.

She is an active member of the Amery Woman’s Club and serves on the board of the Amery Area Historical Society.
